Annals of every nation have events which in their historical significance have enormous weight and become the property of mankind. Ukraine one of these events is tragedy in Babyn Yar.
On September 27th, 2016 students of academic group PR-404 of the Educational and Research Law Institute todether with their tutor Hanna Omelchenko visited the National Historical Memorial Park “Babyn Yar”. The tour of the students was justified as on September 29th 2016 Ukraine will mark the 75th anniversary of tragedy in Babyn Yar. This area in Kiev is one of the symbols of the Nazi policy of genocide, a symbol of the Holocaust in Ukraine and mass grave for civilians and prisoners of war. Students were able to go through way that 75 years ago was the last for almost 34 000 of Jews. AHanna Omelchenko focuses the students’ attention on the memorable locations to show a complete picture and magnitude of the events that claimed more than 100 000 lives. This event promoted the national and patriotic education, consolidate students’ knowledge of the history of Ukraine and form their awareness that peace, life and harmony between people are the highest value on the ground.
