On the 19th of September, 2016 the students of the group PR-304 of Educational and Scientific Institute of Law with the tutor Oksana Myronets visited the Refectory Church of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
During the excursion the future lawyers learned that not far from the place where the modern building is located, in 1108 the monastery refectory was created. According to a chronicle, during the earthquake in 1230 it suffered considerable damage and was rebuilt in 1694 for money of Kiev tradesman M. Maksymovych, but damaged by fire in 1718. The new refectory was rebuilt by the project of an architect V. Nikolayev, and consecrated in the name of holy Anthony and Pheodosiy on the 13th of August, 1895. In 1903 on the custom of Spiritual Council of Lavra the architector O. Shchusev made breakdown for painting of walls. Students received unforgettable experience by visiting one of the most prominent monument of the whole Orthodox world.
