April 14, 2016 the Department of Criminal Law and Process Educational and Research Institute of Law  was organized and conducted thematic exhibition "15 Years of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - new achievements and development prospects" in methodical office.

First in September 2016 is the 15th anniversary of the entry into force of the new Criminal Code of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted April 5, 2001. The adoption of the Criminal Code was a significant event in the political, economic and social life of Ukraine. The need for its preparation was due primarily to the fact that the construction and operation of the legal democratic state can not occur without the existence of an effective legal framework, which duly regulated and protected public relations. Such a legal framework in the fight against crime is primarily the Criminal Code.
A significant increase in crime in the first years of independence of Ukraine, the manifestation of aggressive forms, the spread of organized crime and criminality in the economy raised urgent questions about the creation of criminal law, which would satisfy the needs of society and take into account advances in science of criminal law and made it possible to properly carry out the fight against crime .
During the exhibition examined the question of the need of basic training courses and other scientific encyclopedias of modern criminal law of Ukraine, designed for professional formation of justice not only to students and researchers but also the general public and law-maker pravozastosuvachiv.
