On December 7th, 2011, on the eve of the International Day of Human Rights, a meeting with V’yacheslav Bigun, Ph.D (Law), Master of Law (USA), lawyer of the Secretariate of the European Court of Human Rights, was held in the Legal Institute with the assistance of the Coordinating Council of Young Jurists of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
This event was attended by the Legal Institute students of 1-5 years and it had a form of discourse on the theme “Human in Law: Cinematographic Form of Human Rights”. During this discourse V’yacheslav Bigun made a presentation of his book “Legal Films. Training Film Guide about Law and Jurists” – the first in the post-Soviet countries collected volume on legal films. The discourse was accompanied by the film clips. Besides that V’yacheslav Bigun discussed with students the questions of interpretation of the freedom realization problems in foreign and home cinematographs as a foundation of human rights, correlation of freedom and bondage, fanaticism while implementation of ideas on example of Stalin’s and other totalitarian regimes. During the above mentioned discussion participants made a conclusion that cinematograph as the art and film production sector reflects the form of human rights. Such kind of information has to assist future human rights activists in their propagandist activity. At the end of this event the author granted his books and disks about the European Court of Human Rights to the most active participants of the discussion.
