On December 6th, 2011 the contest “The Cleverest First-Year Student” was held in the Law Institute. Six years together the Institute Student’s Council supported by the Direction organized intellectual contest between the first-year students to find the most erudite, curious and knowledgeable ones.
The contest consisted of three rounds and there took part 14 first-year students. The fellow members of course, senior students, academic supervisors and lecturers also came to support first-year students by applause and posters prepared by them in advance. The competent jury included Iryna Sopilko – the Director of the Legal Institute, Rostyslav Kalyuzhnyi – the Deputy Director on Scientific Work, Valeriy Kolpakov – the Head of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law, Svitlana Golovko and Viktoriya Cherevatyuk – assistants professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law. During the first round jury estimated students’ knowledge of the theory and history of state and law, constitutional law, Latin, judicial and law enforcing bodies of Ukraine. In the result only 6 first-year students took part in the second round. And only 4 first-year students who gave quick answers on the questions of the third round categories “History of Ukraine” “Mythology”, “Ukrainian and Foreign Literature”, “Cinematograph” got to the finale. Oleksandr Vyshnevskyi (group 103) won this contest, Mariya Roshchuk (group 101) got the second place and the third place was shared between Olga Svidina (group 103) and Oleksiy Panov (group 102). At the end of the contest “The Cleverest First-Year Student of the Legal Institute” its winners were awarded by diplomas and gifts and they were photographed in memory. We congratulate the winners!
