Pursuant to the State program to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women and men for the period up to 2016 approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from September 26, 2013 № 717 on November 27, 2015 in the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law associate professor of criminal law and procedure Nazar Malyarchuk held Lecture-debate on the theme "Gender equality in Ukraine: problems and ways to improve".
During the sessions discussed the concept of "gender", the importance of gender equality as one of the hallmarks of the rule of law, discussed the state of women's rights in Ukraine since the 80s, and the factors to be taken into account for the establishment of gender equality in the Ukrainian society. At the end of the event, participants agreed on the need to educate women about the ways and forms of protection of infringed rights, which they have in the context of gender equality, public cases of rights violations based on gender and actively deal with them. In turn, the state is obliged to ensure that the rights of women in all spheres of society.
