On the 4th of November, 2015 there was a “round table” on the theme “Electoral law in Ukraine: problems and prospects of improvement” at Educational and Scientific Law Institute.
Head of Department of Problems of Public Administration and Administrative Law of Institute of State and Law of Ukraine, corresponding member of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor Olga Andriyko; Director of Institute of Public Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Valentyn Galunko; Head of Department of State Legislation and Law of National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, Candidate of Law, Professor Svitlana Dubenko; Associate Professor of Department of State Legislation and Law of National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, Candidate of History, Associate Professor Viktor Melnychenko; Professor of Department of State Legislation and Law of National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Natalia Plakhotnyuk; Associate Professor of Department of Administrative Law and Procedure of National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Viktoria Chorna were the partisipants of the “round table”. During the event special attention was paid to the issues concerning the improvement of the electoral law and electoral legislation, support the process of transformation of democracy from the theoretical idea into the real political, social and legal institution, which is required to establish the people's right on free expression. According to the results of the “round table” the participants concluded that positive changes in this area need to create the effective legal mechanism to guarantee voters' rights legally. Firstly, implementation of this plan must be based on the application of the principles and methods of legal regulation that embody the intellectual and volitional potential of legal influence on the election relations, make imperative regulation and clearly define the character of relations between the subjects of the electoral law.
