Within the month of legal knowledge on the 21st of October, 2015 the meeting of Senior Lecturer of Department of Theory and History of State and Law Iryna Tymkovych and the student of the group PR-401 of Educational and Scientific Institute of Law Dmytro Povetkin was conducted with the senior pupils of Secondary school of I-III grades № 158 in Kyiv.
The event was held in the form of the discussion to improve the senior pupils’ knowledge in the field of human rights, mechanisms of their implementation and protection, further formation of legal culture and civic competence of the youth, education of the pupils in the spirit of respect to human rights and strengthening the motivation for self-improvement. During the meeting the participants paid attention to international and European human rights standards, suggested that to form the legal state and the civil society in Ukraine it is important to form the conscious, responsible attitude of citizens to rights and freedoms of other people. The senior pupils noticed that every person is valuable and unique regardless of gender, language, religion, color, and relations between people should be based on mutual understanding and respect, goodwill and tolerance. After the meeting Dmytro Povetkin informed the pupils about the planned "Open Day" and the benefits of education in "Jurisprudence" at Educational and Scientific Institute of Law, pointing to the relevance of the legal profession in the integration of Ukraine into the European community and opportunity for self-realization in various spheres of legal activities.
