On the 15th of September, 2015 the students of the group PR-204 of Educational and Scientific Institute of Law with the tutor Oksana Myronets visited the near caves and the sources of St. Anthony and Theodosius of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
The students learned that according to the legend of the monastery St. Anthony and Theodosius dug the sources by their own hands, water of which is holy and healing. In 1958 workers of the Institute of Geology after special tests found that water contains mineral combinations that have healing properties. The second year students went down to St. Anthony or Near Caves and saw the immured in the wall thickness recluses’ windows, 73 relics of Caves devotees, including: Nikon Great, Venerable Barlaam, the first historian Nestor Chronicler, doctor Ahapida, the epic hero Ilya Muromets and others. Also, the professional tour guide told the students that the length of the corridors of Near Caves is 383 meters, height is 2.5 meters, width is 1.5 meters. Excellent guides, interesting facts about cultural heritage gave unforgettable impression, much emotions and pleasure to all of participants!
