In the modern period in higher law education it is very important to combine theory with practice. Taking this into account, as part of the professional practice of students the 1st year students of the Law Institute on the 23rd of April, accompanied by the Senior Lecturer of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Olena Makeeva visited the Parliamentary Ombudsman Office of Ukraine on Human Rights.
During the tour students learned about the characteristics and activities of the state body - the Human Rights Representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which was created for parliamentary control over the observance of constitutional rights and freedoms of a man and citizen. Meaningful and useful from a practical point of view for the student it was to have the meeting with the head of the Secretariat of the Human Rights Representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Bogdan Kryklyvenko. During the active discussion the students got a lot of useful and interesting information, could give the questions that showed the high level of their legal knowledge. Bogdan Kryklyvenko told the students about the problems of protecting the rights and freedoms in Ukraine, particularly on the temporarily occupied territories, the mechanism of their implementation. His proposition for the participation of graduate students of Law Institute of National Aviation University in competition to get positions in the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine of Human Rights was the positive aspect of the event. Excursions to government agencies enhance the level of legal awareness and legal culture of future lawyers, highly professional specialists who provide real establishment of the new system of European values, which are based on observance of the principles of democracy, rule of law and respect for human rights.
