December 9, 2014 Associate Professor of Civil Law and Procedure Law Institute Nikolai Kahadiy held lectures for students in 11th grade secondary school №43 Solomenskiy district of Kyiv on "victimology as a factor in crime".
During the lecture Nick Kahadiy revealed the concept of "victimology" goals and functions victimological crime prevention, predisposition to becoming a victim of crime, and drew parallels between the behavior and the number of possible victims of violent crime in Ukraine and Europe. Lecturer brought interesting examples of factors that influence crime, for example, studies conducted in 2010 in the US, which showed that the level of violent crime and victimization lower in those urban areas where tall trees blown over. According to one researcher, trees can improve quality of life by reducing crime, since it clear to potential criminals that the area well maintained, and hence the higher the risk for the offender to be caught. Thematic activities among young people is one of the functional tasks Nakov teaching staff. An important means of prevention is victimological general legal education. Practice shows that some crimes were made possible due to legal ignorance victims. The positive effect is achieved for citizens, especially in the segment, which is characterized by increased viktym. Speaking of lectures and interviews, coaches and teachers should pay attention to the circumstances of the victim nature, be vigilant recommend, follow safety rules, critical attitude to their actions.
