November 20, 2014 Ukrainian conference of young scientists and students "Aero - 2014. Air and Space Law" took place at the Law Institute.
Holding this year's conference is a bright proof that even in the most difficult periods of development, the state should take care of strengthening its scientific potential and preparing professional specialists in Air and Space Law. The conference was held in the form of plenary and breakout session. The reports of leading scientists and practitioners were presented at the plenary session. They stressed the legal aspects of civil aviation safety and the importance of implementation of international standards in the legislation of Ukraine. Also, Jaroslav Kozachok (Vice-rector on pedagogical and educational work NAU, doctor of sciences, Professor) and Irina Sopilko (Director of the Law Institute NAU, Ph.D., associate professor) welcomed the young generation of scientist. Informative report were presented by Stanislaus Husaryev – Vice-Rector of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, Doctor of Law, Professor; Rostislav Kalyuzhnyy - Deputy Director on Science of the Law Institute NAU, Doctor of Law, Professor; Galina Suslova - head of the Institute ICAO, Professor, ICAO expert; Oleg Aksamentov - Director of the Institute of Air and Space Law AEROHELP (Petersburg); Dmytro Buhayko - NAU leading researcher, Ph.D., associate professor; Andriy Butenko - Chairman of the Council of Lawyers of Ukraine at the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Vice-rector on educational work, dean of the Faculty of Law, European University; Maxim Komarnickiy - interrogator for the particularly important cases of Operations Section, Investigation Department of the Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv region; Armen Nersesyan - Senior Researcher of the Institute of State and Law, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, PhD.; Vitaliya Popovich - Head of Department on national security, defense, law enforcement and fighting crime Chief Scientific Expert of the Central Scientific Experts Office of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, PhD; Olexander Zaiets - Associate Professor of Odessa State University, Ph.D. Following the discussion papers of the 295 participants from 16 regions of Ukraine and 2 foreign countries, 25 educational establishment and 13 organizations, a consensus was reached that the further development of Air and Space Law today is directly related to the necessity to activate research in this area and further improvement of the current legislation. Conclusions received at the conference will be consistently implemented in the educational process of the Law Institute NAU, used in the preparation of educational courses and masters’ and students’ research.
